Ingredients:
4 ripe but firm pears (e.g., Bosc or Bartlett)

½ cup creamy Gorgonzola cheese

2 tbsp honey

¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.

Cut the pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the core and seeds with a spoon or melon baller. Trim a small slice off the bottom of each pear half so they sit flat.

In a small bowl, mix the Gorgonzola cheese and half the honey until smooth. Add chopped walnuts or pecans if using.

Place the pears cut-side up in the prepared baking dish. Fill each cavity with the Gorgonzola mixture. Brush the exposed pear flesh with melted butter.

Bake the pears for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelized.

Drizzle the baked pears with the remaining honey and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves if desired.

Serve warm as an appetizer, side dish, or dessert. These pair wonderfully with a crisp white wine or as a luxurious addition to a charcuterie board.
