Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (cooked and crumbled)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp garlic powder
3 large eggs
½ cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter
Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line it with paper muffin liners.
Cook the Sausage:
If not already cooked, crumble and cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
Combine the Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
Assemble the Batter:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.
Fill the Muffin Cups:
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm, garnished with green onions or parsley if desired. Enjoy your easy, hearty breakfast!
