A creamy and flavorful dish, ideal for family meals or to impress your guests without effort. Here is a simple recipe for a tender filet mignon accompanied by a Boursin and mushroom sauce.
Ingredients: (for 4 people)
400 g pork filet mignon
150 g button mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, chopped
100 g Boursin (garlic and herbs)
4 tbsp crème fraîche
1 vegetable stock cube
200 ml water
12 g cornstarch (optional, to thicken)
3 tsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the ingredients: Thinly slice the onion and mushrooms. Cut the filet mignon into slices of about 2 cm.
Sear the meat: Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and brown the filet mignon slices on each side. Remove them and set aside.
Cook the vegetables: In the same frying pan, sauté the onion until translucent, then add the mushrooms. Cook until they release their water and start to brown.
Add the liquids: Add the water and the bouillon cube. Mix well and simmer for a few minutes.
Prepare the sauce: Mix the Boursin with the crème fraîche, then pour this mixture into the frying pan. Stir well to obtain a smooth sauce.
Finishing: Return the filet mignon slices to the frying pan. Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes. If the sauce is too liquid, add the cornstarch diluted in a little cold water and cook for another 5 minutes.
Serve: Serve hot with rice, fresh pasta or sautéed potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color.
Tips:
Add a spoonful of old-fashioned mustard for extra flavor.
Replace the Boursin with another herbed cheese if you want to vary the tastes.
